Farmers' Markets: Tunbridge St Margaret River - Mornings from 8am 24 Jul; 28 Aug; 11 / 25 Sep; 9 / 23 Oct; 13 / 27 Nov; and 11 / 18 Dec 2010. Make an early start and procure cheap (free range) eggs, vegies, fruit and local produce. Organic produce is available and there's usually a coffee van on site, so you can start your day off with a bang! Whale Watching: July, August and early September are the best months for whale watching in the Augusta region. There are excellent vantage points along the shore of Flinders Bay, or you might try from the top of the lighthouse (for even more spectacular sights). Humpbacks and southern right whales are most common, however you might also be lucky enough to sight an enormous blue whale. For those who are able, a whale watching cruise will be an absolute standout (check with Julian for booking contacts). Combine a whale-watching visit with a lunch at the Augusta Hotel and enjoy superb 180 degree views of the Blackwood River. Your visit could be even more enjoyable if coupled with one of the many events which are on offer - particularly between October and April. We'll do our best to keep you informed! |
